The Lost Plot by Genevieve Cogman

In this action-packed literary adventure series the Library sends highly trained Librarians to alternative worlds of varying degrees of order and chaos to retrieve books.

The Lost Plot, the fourth book, is set in a 1920s-esque America in a time of prohibition, elegant men in sharp suits, flirtatious molls in cloche hats, gin running Dragons, gun toting Fae, ruthless gangsters, and clueless coppers.

Against this backdrop intrepid Librarian Irene Winters and her apprentice Kai find themselves caught in political conspiracy implicating a young librarian and a rare book.  The possible outcomes of resolving this conflict include loss of Irene’s job, questioning of the Library neutrality, and war.  It is a race against time and deadly obstacles.
