Magicians Impossible by Brad Abraham

30 year-old bartender, Jason Bishop, returns home to Cold Spring, N.Y., to bury his father, Daniel, who allegedly leapt to his death from the roof of the Four Seasons restaurant in Manhattan.   While reeling with grief and regret Jason is confronted in the funeral home’s restroom by a stranger who vanishes, leaving behind only a playing card. The stranger, Carter Block, reappears at Jason’s bar and reveals Daniel’s real name is Damon King, and he is part of an ancient society of spies wielding magic in a centuries-spanning war with a sinister cabal of witches and warlocks.  Now Jason must master his innate magical abilities, survive the training and determine who to trust.

The action ramps up when Jason and a team of magical spies endeavor to pull a heist at the Louvre and culminates in an archetypal battle – but who is good and who is evil?

The writing lends a cinematic feel to the story through the creation of a detailed world, explosive action and riveting spycraft.  Hope there is a sequel.
