A House Without Windows by Nadia Hashimi

Posted by Marilyn Thiessen

This is the story of Zeba, a quiet, dutiful wife in Afghanistan.  Everything changes on a fateful day that her husband is found murdered in their courtyard.  Zeba is found with blood on her hands and the only one at the scene.  She is immediately arrested and her young children are taken to relatives.

What continues is a moving story of one woman's courage and a dedicated young lawyer's fight for justice in a country that views their woman as lesser citizens.

Highly recommend this novel as well as Hashimi's other titles.
